Employee Surveys

As part of an EFQM-driven program or without any formal reason, most of our customers initiate employee surveys from time to time. These can be full-scale global employee satisfaction measurement projects or special purpose projects. Sometimes, top management wants to test to what extent strategic messaging has reached lower or local management levels and sets up an employee communication survey. In other cases, HR has become aware of an increasing number of staff-away-sick and needs to know more about the levels of integrity and motivation – and their drivers. In a third example, virtual classrooms or one-on-one discussions are to unlock the creative potential of middle management with regard to new market opportunities.

In any case, employee surveys need a strong degree of sensitivity, compliance and anonymity. They have to be well introduced and announced, completed in the most professional and transparent manner, and results have to flow back in a motivating and positive way. Any “abuse” or only “co-use” of collected data for other purposes than communicated and guaranteed will do severe damage to corporate culture.

Over the years, we have built tools for each step of a successful employee survey, which most of the time is conducted through the Intranet (if quantitative), and face-to-face (if qualitative and targeting management).
